GoodGym Woking were delighted to welcome Harvey Gallagher, a GoodGymer from Ealing, who joined us ( Kirsty and Karen) to help at the Park run this morning.
The sun was shining, the autumn season was off to a flying start and there was a fantastic turnout of children and parents. And judging by some of the times, everyone had clearly decided it was a morning for putting their trainers into top gear! ⚡️
A huge well done to all the children for getting out there and giving it their all, to the parents for cheering them on, and to all the brilliant volunteers who made it happen.
What a great way to start the autumn season! 🍂👏

After a small admin oversight, GoodGym’s stalwarts ran this community mission together. Adam and James flew the GoodGym flag at Woking Junior parkrun, while the girls headed over to Knaphill to support another GoodGym community mission.
After helping the junior runners safely around their 2km course with plenty of encouragement and high fives, Adam and James decided their own legs deserved a workout too.
With volunteering duties complete, the boys headed off for a lovely run together, proving that even with the GoodGym gang split across Woking, teamwork was still running strong❤
Well done, Adam and James; volunteering and following it up with a decent run is a pretty perfect GoodGym Sunday ❤ (the boys were too busy to take any photos)

A perfect August morning, with great weather conditions for the children to run, parents to spectate and GoodGymers to marshal. Anne, Steve and Karen were there to assist alongside all the other volunteers.
An excellent turnout of 170 children made for another worthwhile morning of volunteering, with lots of “Thank you, Marshal!” from very grateful children and parents, and plenty of high fives to keep the younger runners motivated.

It was lovely to see Anne back volunteering at GoodGym junior parkrun this morning.
The three GoodGymers — Olalekan Anne and Karen — carried out their usual duties at what was a very well-attended session, despite the school summer holidays. The cloud cover made for ideal running conditions and, judging by the pace, it certainly seemed like a fast one!
Well done to all the children who took part, and to the carers who were either running alongside them or cheering them on from the sidelines.
It is such a privilege to support and encourage the next generation of runners. 🏃♀️🏃♂️👏

*Junior Park Run *
This morning Wayne, Kirsty, &Olalekan met at Woking Park to carry out various volunteering roles.
It was great catching up with Kirsty and hearing about her training for an up coming 10k 😊.
Olalekan was carrying out bar code scanning while Wayne &Kirsty were out on the course cheering the runners around.
Today we had 116 runners with the fastest time being an amazing 06:59. There were also 42 PB's great running by everyone.

Woking Junior Park Run Despite the summer holidays there were several new participants this morning joining a great turn out from regular runners, parents, families, and friends. For the first time in what feels like months there was an overcast sky and even a few drops of rain but not enough to discourage some great individual performances. With Olalekan volunteering as barcode scanner and Karen and Steve-as marshals. Well done to everyone involved, a brilliant event, hope everyone has a great week and is ready again next Sunday morning.
