Woking Junior parkrun enjoyed another successful event this morning, with excellent weather and an impressive turnout of enthusiastic young runners and their families. Two GoodGym members were in attendance. James took on the role of Run Director, ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish, while Olalekan volunteered as a barcode scanner, helping to record the children's achievements as they crossed the finish line. The atmosphere was full of excitement as the runners gathered at the start. The children were eager to get underway, and the pace was incredibly quick, with the first finisher emerging in under seven minutes. The clement weather added to the enjoyment of the morning, making it a pleasant experience for everyone involved. There were plenty of smiles around the finish area as children celebrated their runs and parents and carers cheered them on. Overall, it was a fun-filled and rewarding event that showcased the energy, enthusiasm, and community spirit that make Woking Junior parkrun so special."

As Adam arrived at Woking junior parkrun I could already see everything was well organised and setup. Add I get closer the the bandstand, I could see Karen and Olalekan already there, with their highvis's on. James soon arrived armed with some coffees, which I was very thankful for.
It wasn't long before I registered and was given a different marshall position at finish funnel, ensuring adults wouldn't block up the funnel holding things up by going through the finish funnel.
The briefing started where run director Richard, gave the introductions for Woking Junior Parkrun number 350.
There where many children lined up for the start and when the whistle sounded, you could feel the ground shake as they stormed off the line. A good start was made as they all joined the path quickly.
The first runners passed me, all focused and I'm guessing looking for a quick time. Then the other runners came by a bit more gently and with big smiles on their faces.
And it turned out an incredible a total of 251 children finished and the first finisher to complete the run, in a fantastic time of 7:20
Well done to the GoodGymers that helped it with another smooth Junior Parkrun 😁.

The turnout at Woking Junior Parkrun was astounding as per usual!! Wayne, Mel, Ola and Luan were the GoodGym marshals for the morning.
Writing the report I tried to get the stats for the event but, today everyone was pretty chilled at the end so there was no prize giving as there have been other times.
The kids are so cool at Junior Parkrun and a couple of them high fived me as they ran past, OMG they are cute! Usually I personally try to be as encouraging as possible and cheer them on as they pass…
They all did so well to run their 2k around the park!
Awesome :-)
