London Fields of dreams

Wednesday 13th March

Written by Joel Wiles

2 GoodGymers barrowed 20 loads full of mulch 300 meters to start the pathway on the conservation area of London Fields.

After a little hiccup getting into the Cricket pavilion to collect the tools we headed down to the South end if the park to the mulch mound.

Digging in and loading each barrow to the brim we kept up a strong pace pushing the mulch and tipping it out ready to be spread at the end. Even with a speedy pit stop to exchange wheel barrows and a squeaky wheel on the other barrow to contend with!!

20 barrows perfectly tipped out in a big 75 minute effort we spread to mulch and the path is starting to take shape.

Top work from Dan tonight! Well played!

Tucking in the baby trees

Wednesday 28th February

Written by Joel Wiles

6 GoodGymers mulched 15 trees in London Fields.

Some proper Wheelbarrow fitness needed tonight!! With the gigantic mulch pile 600 metres away from the mulch needy trees we had a big job pushing the barrows!

Loading up the barrows to the brim before pushing they across the park, even adding a little off roading to increase the difficulty!

Using the tree knowledge to perfectly bed in the baby trees to keep the nutrients, moisture in while any frost away.

Top team work in just over an hour of steptastic action completed a really good task!
