Josh and Pete met at Mencap and jogged to Granville community centre, met Leslie then proceeded to clean some of their dirty, greasy kitchen trolleys. Soon after Lee, then Becka arrived and we continued to scrub and wash trolleys, fridges and microwave. Turned out sparkling. A good job done. Granville do a great job for the community organising a healthy food bank twice a week, education, dance classes, gardening and so much more. We hope they stay open for a long time yet. We then departed, Becka running home, good luck in your forthcoming Hackney Half, while the other 3 jogged and walked back to Beer n burger in Willesden Green, where a good pint was enjoyed over a good boy's chat. Well done everyone, see you soon.

On Monday night Goodgym Brent ran to Granville Kitchen where we helped give a deep clean. They had three large fridges that needed work plus a huge dirty cooker. We scrubbed , washed and wiped until it shone

It was a pretty Freezing night but that didn't put off Samina, Lizzie, Harvey and Tabitha who met outside Papagayo in Willesden Green, ready for Goodgym Brent's last goodgym of the year! It had snowed the night before, and the roads were snow and icy in patches. We took extra special care, jogging carefully the 3km to Granville Kitchen, and stopping to walk whenever there was ice on the path.
We made it to Granville where Leslie greeted us warmly. Granville Kitchen is a community centred organisation that provides food aid, food education as well as fun activities to local residents. There fridges are well used so we had the important task of cleaning them. We split into two teams with Leslie and Harvey working at the front, and Tabitha and Samina the back fridge. After wiping them down and taking out the shelves for a good scrub, the fridges were soon clean and sparkling. We were grateful for the hot water keeping our hands warm on such a cold day! The final job for the evening was cleaning up some split detergent in the bottom of a cupboard...it had turned into a sticky brown gloop, but thankfully with a bit of elbow grease it was easily removed.
We stopped for a team photo, said goodbye to Leslie then headed off carefully into the night. Great job everyone!

Following Liz’s warm up we ran to Granville Centre where we took on tasks to clean the kitchen. We started off by preparing buckets with hot water and soapy detergent before getting scrubbing in fridges and on walls. Liz made the fridge glimmer then put back all the apples she’d removed. Pete scrubbed the fridge shelves whilst I added the sparkling touch to the walls as I got rid of all those cooking stains. Amy also contributed to the fridge cleaning, removing old debris and scrubbing doors and shelves until they shined. Then we ran back to the pub for a refreshing drink and some cake. It was definitely a concerted group effort! I look forward to seeing you all next week!!!

It was one of those warm Summer Nights when Goodgymers CJ Lee and Tabitha met in Willesden ready for a good deed. We ran like Greased Lightning to Granville community kitchen where Leslie was gladly waiting for the keen trio, and kindly gave us glasses of water to cool down after the warm run.
Granville regularly makes food for the local community and we were there to help give the kitchen oven a deep clean. It was time to Don our gloves and get Physical with Lee cleaning the racks and trays and CJ and Tabitha focusing on the hob and inside of the oven. We scrubbed hard, removing all the grease and grime until we could (almost) see our faces in the oven.
Leslie was grateful for our help so we said good bye and after a quick discussion of whether to go home or not, we decided We go together for a drink in a local pub
Becka joined us not for a good deed but for a good drink and we all had a lovely catch up with a pint and some chips.
It turned colder, that's where it ends
See you next time!

On a muggy Monday evening, GGs met for a quick warm-up before heading to the Granville kitchen.
We quickly began the tasks set. Samina, Becca and Pete began the cleaning of the fridges. Meanwhile, Tabitha and Liz began tidying the cupboard containing the bags of bags, which were in a bit of a muddle. The final task of the evening was to sort the tea bags, taking any out of date bags home with us.
The team departed and ran back to Papagayo, where they quickly bagged seats for a quick beverage.
