And that's a wrap! After an amazing month of July with the bandstand session on, every Saturday at Watermans Park, it is now a wrap until next year.

Today, as ever, was a great success with a great turnout in both attendance and artists to go on stage. Countless artists of many different spectrum, ages, stage proficiencies and of quite impressive quality overall, I must say!

Following a 2-hour session of bathing in the music for Gus and Emma and a slightly shorter one for Kash who stepped out quickly to do another mission, all the bands had gone, the DJ was finishing his set, it was therefore time to pack up.

Pull down. Fold up. (Hug???) Carry down. Stack up. Rinse and repeat.

Passing by a few fashion show moments from drapping the Goodgymer to (literally) walking the carpet, it was soon a job well done and time for a selfie in front of our beautiful Tetris work.

As the theme tune says 'Come out to play in Waterman's Park', and for that the stage needs setting up!

In its fifth consecutive year, The Friends of Watermans Park organised a summer bandstand every Saturday of July for local legends/residents (your pick) to come and play.

A mighty crew was assembled this Saturday made of Brenda, Emma, Kash, Sevan, Kymm and Gus.

Gazebos and shade were setup in no time. Bunting creativity was at its pick and seat arrangements have been so inviting.

After a job well done, it was time for a few Goodgymers to enjoy the fruit of their labour and stay for the show!

Breda and Michelle stayed behind to help the Friends of Watermans Park pack everything away, after the third concert of the summer series had finished.

The gazebos came down without too much trouble, the deck chairs and cushions were stacked away in the storage unit, and, most impressively of all, the bunting was retrieved with minimal fuss. Breda’s pre- event negotiations over where it should be hung paid off handsomely, saving multiple trips up the ladder and proving that a little strategic planning really does go a long way.

Another successful concert packed away, ready for the Friends of Watermans park to do it all again next Saturday, for one last time this summer.

Five GoodGymers were on hand to help set up the third of four free summer events at Watermans Park.

Kai, Kash, Michelle and Breda took on the now-familiar challenge of erecting three gazebos. By this point, you’d think we’d have cracked it. Not quite, but Philippe came to the rescue and normal service was resumed.

Next came the bunting. As we discovered the last two saturday's there seemed to be enough of it to decorate the Thames towpath all the way to Kew. Before a single flag was tied, Breda opened early negotiations with Sevan and Kash over the optimal bunting locations, with one eye firmly on making the evening pack down as painless as possible… more on whether that strategy paid off later!

With gazebos standing, bunting fluttering and the bandstand looking suitably festive, the whole set-up was wrapped up in around half an hour. That left plenty of time for what is now becoming a Watermans tradition: the pre-performance pilgrimage in search of ice lollies.

Goods secured, we had our hydration break before Kai Sevan and Kash headed back closer to home and Breda and I returned to the park to watch the local acts.

Seven GoodGymers congregated at Watermans Park in Brentford with one mission: to transform the park into the hottest music venue in town for the Friends of Watermans Park’s Summer Bandstand Concert.

This free community event brings together local musicians, singers and DJs every saturday in July, and before the first note could be played, there was plenty of behind-the-scenes Goodgym helping hands to make it all happen.

Sevan and Maxime decided there is no such thing as too much bunting. Fence? Decorated. Another fence? Decorated. Pagoda? Obviously decorated.

Meanwhile, Kash somehow managed to squeeze a workout in while decorating yet more bunting on yet another pagoda.

Breda, Michelle, Kymm and Jacqui became unexpected experts in the delicate art of gazebo construction. Thanks to a combination of shifting plans, strategic repositioning and the occasional “mind your fingers”, they successfully assembled gazebos… not once… not twice… but three times! If there's such a thing as a world gazebo assembly championships they would stand every chance of making it through to the knockout stages.

The goodgym crew made such quick work of set up this week that it meant more time for ice lollies before the concert got underway. No goodgymers performed this week, so the local community may have missed out on pitch perfect singing from the backing singers in red t shirts

Michelle, Breda and Breda's friends helped to pack up the summer concert decorations, equipment and chairs.

What goes up must come down and so the miles of bunting hung by the trapeze artist known locally as Kash, and the dynamic duo of Sevan and Maxime was retrieved and packed away for another week.

Deck chairs were flattened and 3 gazebos were deconstucted in record time.
