Signed, sealed, delivered

Thursday 29th January

Written by Caroline

We once again loaded up our backpacks and set off for a weighted jog delivering leaflets around the community in support of Cambridge City Foodbank's winter appeal 📨

The team met at Parkside Pool where Catherine distributed some of the haul to Caroline and Harriet. The 3 then set off for an illuminated jog across town to meet Michele in Newnham, where they paired up to make the task a social activity! 👩‍❤️‍👩

In just 40 min, we hand-delivered 300 leaflets! When we reconvened, we alll eagerly shared and compared our notes and observations on the beautiful glass door designs, doorways decorated with fairy lights, intricate (and sometimes glove-snatching!) letterboxes and curious dogs 🐶

In a double-header evening, we met Nick at a nearby pub for our January social. We warmed ourselves by the fire and ate some notably tasty chips, catching up and celebrating all the good deeds we'd accomplished this month - so far!!! 🫶

As a team, we're all super proud of the effort we're making and all the fun we're having along the way. Here's to keeping up the momentum and continuing to build and support our Cambridge community! 💪

Run and de-leaf-er

Saturday 17th January

Written by Catherine

For this morning's task we were running on kindness (and coffee!). Joining forces with some lovely folk from Running Events Cambridgeshire, we delivered over 500 leaflet packs in support of Cambridge City Foodbank's winter appeal.

Meeting in Eddington (post parkrun for Caroline, Ross and Catherine) we welcomed Greg and Susan to their first GoodGym session 🎉

After a warm up and briefing we split into two groups and headed off! Caroline, Julieth and Daiana covered the miles in Eddington, while the rest of the group headed over to Girton, taking turns to run with the leaflet-laden backpack (kudos to Greg for the lion's share of weighted training 💪).

It was a real team effort, and with good conversation and some laughs, the time flew (as did Susan, speeding up and down the streets of Girton 🙌). We were soon all back at Dulcedo Social for much-needed coffee and pastries, which were as motivating as the cause itself.

We got our heart rates up and the kms in while doing something positive for the community, and left with spirits high.

Fitness, fun and community - the foundations of a great GoodGym session. ♥️

Leaflet to us!

Thursday 4th December 2025

Written by Catherine

Connecting the community and supporting our neighbours, two things our GoodGymers do best.

We had another satisfying evening delivering 200 leaflets for Cambridge City Foodbank's Christmas campaign. Even the miserable weather couldn't stop us 💪

Meeting at the task, we got straight to it, enjoying the Christmas lights, advent windows, and the supermoon along the way. We covered 3 long streets and certainly clocked up the steps!

The winter appeal is raising vital funds and food donations to support families across Cambridge. We've valued being a part of this campaign, supporting others to do good in a different way 💛

Doing good? You better beleaflet!

Thursday 27th November 2025

We were delivering hope on tonight's group run.

What a fun evening supporting Cambridge City Foodbank's Christmas campaign by delivering 300 leaflets to Cambridge residents.

Harriet and I met at Parkside Pools, had a stretch and got lit up before running to the first meeting point (enjoying the Winter Wonderland lights on route). It was an extra challenge running with 300 leaflet packs in our backpacks! Picking up Caroline, we took a run along the river to meet Daiana who had cycled to the task.

After a briefing and some logistics discussions, we split into two groups and got leafleting! The Christmas lights and some beautiful stained glass windows, really brightened the task. The highlight for both groups were the cats that came to help 🐈

After 45 minutes we had delivered all the packs 💪 We shared some leaflet puns for the report title and said our farewells before heading our separate ways and running back to our meeting point.

An uplifting task with lots of time to catch up while doing good. We go again next week 🙌
