This morning we were back at a gloriously sunny and crisp Milton Country Park parkrun ๐งฃ๐งค
Caroline woke up bright and early to help with pre-event set-up, walking a lap of the course to put out signs and cones to guide the runners and walkers, and then gave the first timers briefing. Helping out before the start meant Caroline could brave the cold and still run, proudly showing off her GoodGym tshirt and parkrun volunteer socks! ๐งฆ
Catherine took on the fabulous role of congratulating and handing out tokens to the relieved finishers, keeping warm at the finish line and making new friends ๐
After the event, everyone celebrated with a man named Gordon on his 500th parkrun! ๐ What an amazing achievement, the GoodGymers are feeling suitably inspired.
The girls then went to a local cafe for coffee and pastries, for some added social fun ๐ฅโ๏ธ
What a wonderful start to our weekend!

Two GoodGymers headed to Castle School for our last visit of the year to clear the leaves from the front of the school.
We rolled up our sleeves and got sweeping, clearing the car park and the bike store ๐ช With 8 large buckets filled, we left a sizeble leaf pile, which would make a cozy home for a hedgehog ๐ฆ
After the session we headed to the Cambridge Winter Beer Festival to sample some festive beers. With names like Duck The Halls, Rein Beer, and Hoppy Christmas, they truly were GoodGym-worthy.
Cheers ๐ป

We were delivering hope on tonight's group run.
What a fun evening supporting Cambridge City Foodbank's Christmas campaign by delivering 300 leaflets to Cambridge residents.
Harriet and I met at Parkside Pools, had a stretch and got lit up before running to the first meeting point (enjoying the Winter Wonderland lights on route). It was an extra challenge running with 300 leaflet packs in our backpacks! Picking up Caroline, we took a run along the river to meet Daiana who had cycled to the task.
After a briefing and some logistics discussions, we split into two groups and got leafleting! The Christmas lights and some beautiful stained glass windows, really brightened the task. The highlight for both groups were the cats that came to help ๐
After 45 minutes we had delivered all the packs ๐ช We shared some leaflet puns for the report title and said our farewells before heading our separate ways and running back to our meeting point.
An uplifting task with lots of time to catch up while doing good. We go again next week ๐
