Pret a Livrer! (Ready to Deliver!)

Saturday 4th September 2021

Written by Lutfir Hamzam

For this mission, I went to Pret a Manger in Clapham Junction to collect the leftovers that the staff were prepared to dispose. There were quite a lot of salads, fruits, oats and a few sandwiches.

Whilst collecting the foodstuffs, I got to talk to another friendly volunteer who was collecting the food for the local church. I talked to him about GoodGym and the missions we embark on and he was very interested to learn more, especially about the gardening-related missions.

Overall, it was a very productive Saturday and Lola from BMS Prisons and Homelessness Outreach was appreciative of the help!

Greggs on Legs

Saturday 4th September 2021

Written by Adam Quigley

One Runner delivered two bags of unused food from Greggs to the representative at Bright Morning Star Prisons and Homelessness Outreach to be distributed at their clinic, all the while spurred on by the booming music of the Mighty Hoopla Festival at nearby Brockwell Park.

Look forward to doing it again in the near future!

Monday 30th August 2021

Written by Daryl Shaw (he/him)

Met Natalia outside Pret before they closed. Emptied the fridges into our bags. Then got on our bikes to head to Lambeth where we loaded everything back into a fridge.

Well done to Natalia on their first GoodGym mission!

Always forget to take a photo on missions!

All the small steps count

Saturday 5th June 2021

Written by Janice Ko

I was the only person who signed up today. A person from Bright Morning Star came along, so we managed to bring most of the leftovers to the charity's base. We chatted a bit about how the charity supports the homeless - was really interesting to hear and was happy that I could contribute to a small part of it. Had a pre-mission run in the very warm and sunny weather which was a nice bonus!
