Organisations Victoria Prouse has pledged to support
Victoria just completed a six month streak of doing missions. That’s so many bags of garden rubbish cleared and jobs done to help someone out and put a smile on their face. Give Victoria a cheer to encourage them to keep up the good work.
**ONGOING COMMUNITY MISSION** Joining the Barts Volunteers as Active Hospital Responders OR at the NHS Covid-19 Vaccination Centre, ExCeL
GoodGym have been asked to get involved with Nancy Whiskin and her team at Barts Volunteers. Over the weeks ahead, the volunteering effort will comprise many different activities, both within the hospital environment and at the Vaccination Centre at Newham's ExCel.
Activity may include taking staff meals from the canteen up to the outside of the wards; manning the (glass-fronted) visitors' desk; running patient belongings left by friends and relatives up to the wards; overseeing the rollout of the new staff wellbeing centres...
There are many roles which will include high levels of physical activity for GoodGymers.

Mr A was self isolating and needed a prescription collected. After some socially distanced waiting at the pharmacy the prescription was ready and I was off to Mr A. Safely dropping off the medication to a grateful Mr A and with some help from head office to support Mr A to pay for the prescription, a successful mission was completed.
Mrs J needed some help moving belongings in her house to ensure she had a safe passage to walk through the property. Unfortunately the second runner was unwell but luckily there was nothing heavy to move so I was able to carry on the task. Clearing out and hoovering under the bed to make room for some storage boxes Which freed up more space in the room. I also did a quick bit of gardening to plant out a potted plant in the garden to give it a new lease of life. There’s more work to be done but it was nice to meet Mrs J and her cute dog and make some small progress with her decluttering.
Mercato Metropolitano are doing a great job putting on free meals for school children in the school holidays. Meals were part of their MM kitchen build your own meal options and some free fruit and I was asked to support them by talking the families through the options and helping out in the busy periods. It was much quieter than previous days with just half a dozen meals provided but those who did receive them were really pleased and it made a huge difference.
