Ryan Prince done a 6 month mission streak.

Ryan just completed a six month streak of doing missions. That’s so many bags of garden rubbish cleared and jobs done to help someone out and put a smile on their face. Give Ryan a cheer to encourage them to keep up the good work.

Packing a punch in the fight against homelessness

Newham Report written by Penelope Terras

Stock checking and wrapping pallets in clingfilm ready for clothes to go into storage was a good team effort. Most novel and fun was using the pallet trolley.

Thank you Penny

A message from Sharon Was a pleasure to lead this task. Was a suprise to get the message that Crisis needed more help as had previously been told our mission was complete and Richard had the help he needed for final sort and packing. It seems Richard was let down but he knew who to call !.

Hilary,Chris and Graham arrived first and set to work packing away the last off the office stationary and repairing the door on a mobile library.

Kevin and I arrived and after a quick catch up with Richard he set us to work sorting out the boxes and bags of clothes......so many boxes with various items of clothes that needed to be counted, boxed, labelled, stack and wrapped. Thankfully Penelope arrived to give us a hand closely followed by Aine and Jennifer

After lunch Ryan joined the gang (yes a Prince family outing) along with Hilary and Graham who had the stationary sorted.

Was great team work to get the boxes sorted and stacked, hopefully with the final push from the Sunday Mission all the clothes with be stacked and wrapped ready to go in storage ready for Crisis at Christmas 2021

Congratulations to Jennifer and Ryan on completing a 6 month mission streak and Kevin on a 12 month streak

Goodgymers Dis-Assemble

Newham Report written by Sharon

So due to unforseen circumstances today became our last visit to the Crisis warehouse.

A very warm welcome from Richard to greet us on this chilly day, after a quick catch up we headed to Bay 3 for our final packing assignment.

Helen and I had the task of repacking and listing the craft items....it seems crafting and paper was not enough information for the spreadsheet bosses.....Richard had helped by part unpacking the cages for us.

Paul,Kevin and Graham had the task of PPE packing....so many face masks Hilary and Rosa counted and packed away the hand sanitiser units.

A great morning of work and we headed of for lunch.

Some additional personnel arrived for the final push

Brad and Ryan joined the PPE sorting and counting.

Jade, Kelsey and Grace helped with the craft sorting.

John and Becky headed to the office areas to dismantle white boards and pack away mugs and kettles.

The office team and the PPE teams had great fun shrink wrapping the filled pallets ready for them to be collected to go into storage ready for Christmas 2021

Crate Expectations

Tower Hamlets Report written by Laura Williams

Splendid Sunday work

By the time I arrived at this Sunday drop-in session, the team were already well into their task: knee deep in crates, stock and stock- taking.

As a real newbie to this task, I was very relieved to be shown the ropes so brilliantly by Jen who patiently answered numerous questions I had about the process of counting hundreds and hundreds of items all needing to be relocated to very good homes.

The team were working quietly under the careful eye of project co-ordinator Richard who regularly walked around checking in on us all.

And the team grew as the minutes ticked by: soon we were joined by GoodGymers from neighbouring boroughs, as the operation grew slowly, before we all dispersed for lunch.

After my crate-packing cameo, I headed out, rotating out of my shampoo and conditioner packing role and leaving Martin safely in Eva's expert hands.

No doubt more members arrived for the afternoon shift.

Well done team.

Richard was explaining the great work you're doing - enabling the completion of spreadsheet after spreadsheet of your finely packed items, ready for these necessities to go on to very, very good homes all over the country.

(If anyone arrived after I left who has photos, or other report additions they'd like included, either pop them in here or email them to me at laura@goodgym.org!)
