Monday Gardening at Hollybush Gardens

Mon 10 May 18:00 pm
Rocky Park (Hollybush Estate), Stockton House, Ellsworth Street, London, E2 0AY
We're weeding and planting large plants in Rocky Gardens!

Leo leads tonight's task, with fellow Task Force members Becky and Kat on hand, as we rejoin Margaret and Michael for a variety of gardening activities in Rocky Park.

What you need to know

  • You'll be meeting in a group of 13 for greeting and briefing only. You will then be be distributed into smaller teams, all over the site, with two task owners.

  • Tools and gloves will be available, but bring own gloves if you have them, as well as a face covering in case you are working in a confined outdoor space.

  • We have allowed an hour for this task, but you are welcome to stay longer if there's still work to be done!

  • This task runs alongside tonight's fitness activity in Meath Gardens. You can choose to take a run, cycle or walk to Meath from Hollybush!

Need to cancel?

  • Numbers are strictly capped for this activity, but Michael and Margaret do need a minimum of six people for each group. So please un-sign with as much notice as possible if you can't make this after signing up. Thank you!

Leona Roche has earned their community cape by completing their first community mission. Sat 1 May 2021

Leona completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Leona was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Leona Roche has done their first good deed with GoodGym. Sat 1 May 2021

Leona is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Weaver helped clear an a-pole-ing mess

Sat 1 May
Report written by Tower Hamlets runner

Intrepid Good Gymers met on a blustery (occasionally sunny) Saturday morning to assist the lovely Alex and Nadia with a number of tasks around the Weavers playground. As the Weavers fox looked on from a safe distance, we started the bulk of activity which centred around weeding but also included moving heavy poles, painting a door in colourful stripes (Rohan and Lieke showing their artistic side!) securing the netting around the fence perimeter, moving piles of wood and jet washing weeds from paving. As ever the team set about their tasks with enthusiasm and most of the work was completed before we headed off to enjoy the remainder of the bank holiday weekend. Special shout out to Leona who attended her very first community mission, Lieke for taking the photos and Stephen (and myself) for coming up with the a-pole-ing puns!

Weavers Weekends: A Bank Holiday Bonanza with Alex this Saturday!

Sat 1 May 11:00 am
Weavers Adventure Playground, Viaduct Street, London, E2 0BH
Get your long weekend off to a fabulous start with Alex and Nadia at the fabulous adventure playground.

What we'll be doing

  • We're heading back to Weaver's Adventure Playground this weekend for our regular Saturday session to help Alex and Nadia get the playground ready for re-opening.

  • Tasks may include filling skips, helping break up large poles of wood, painting and constructing decking and doors.

What you need to know

  • You will be in a group of 15 for meeting only. Then you will be divided into groups of 2-4 and dispatched to all areas, both inside the grounds (and possibly out) for your tasks.

And let's not forget the report...

  • Want to see your efforts online? We're looking for story tellers, pun pros and photographers for the report from today's activity for the GoodGym website! Do feel free to try your hand at crafting the report (and it can be a team effort!).

Need to cancel?

  • We very much hope you'll be able to make it, but if anything changes after you've signed up, please un-sign as soon as possible to free up your place for someone else. Thank you!
