UPDATE - JULY

It seems the best option for those coming down on Saturday is going to be to camp. I've included the race times below – it looks like unless you’re local, coming down on Sunday morning will be quite difficult, in particular there isn’t a train which will get you down from London on time.

Most of us are going to camp at Hollands Wood Campsite. It’s about a 20-minute walk from Brockenhurst station and about a half hour walk from the race start.

A pitch costs from £21.50 for the night if there’s one or two of you, up to £42.90 if there’s six of you in the pitch. You’re probably best deciding who you’re sharing with before one of you books. It also asks that you give the approximate size of the tent when you book.

If you need a space in a tent, or have a space to offer, then please let me know (email is frances@goodgym.org) and I’ll see what I can do to arrange it. Decathlon also has some cheap tents available if you want to buy one!

Once you’ve booked, or made alternative arrangements, can you please mark it on the spreadsheet so we know you’re sorted?

If you don't want to camp it'd be worth looking into alternative options fairly soon.

Can you please also fill in the spreadsheet to let us know your plans for Saturday (cycle hire and/or Saturday night meal) so we can make arrangements for those too? I’m looking at arranging some cycle hire for Saturday afternoon – this would probably involve arriving in Brockenhurst at half 10/11ish, going to set up camp and get some lunch, and then heading out early afternoon for a leisurely but scenic cycle. A local cycle hire place says they can accommodate us for under £20 a bike, but it would be good to have numbers.

Finally, I’m also looking at arranging dinner at a pub or restaurant in Brockenhurst on Saturday night. Again, it would be really helpful if you could put your name down on the spreadsheet so we have an idea of numbers.

RACE START TIMES Full Marathon: 9.00am Half Marathon: 9.55am 10k: 10.25am 5k: 10.40am Nordic Walk: 10.45am Woodland Walk: 10.15am

6️⃣🏁 Oxford Half Marathon

Sun 8 Oct 09:30 am
Oxford University Parks, Oxford, OX1 3RF
Come and speed around the spires with GoodGym

On Sunday, 8th October 2017, join GoodGym for a saunter around the dreaming spires of beautiful Oxford.

It’s a fast, flat route around the city centre, so plan for a PB.

Put your details on this spreadsheet so that we can keep you updated with all the plans.

'Tickets' are available now at £45 - sign up here. Don't forget to join the #GoodGymxOxford team when signing up (although we don't know what that does as such)!

Oxford is just about equidistant from Bristol, Bath and London, and accessible from Bournemouth/Essex as well, so hopefully we can descend on Oxford en masse for the final race of our raceteam calendar. There’s loads to see and do there so either head up the day before and potter about, or it’s close enough for some of us to bus or drive there on the Sunday morning.

Fingers crossed for nice weather so we can have a bit of a punt (or pedalo) on the river post-race.

(Note: you may be able to get a free place by volunteering at other Vitality organised races such as the North London Half, the Hackney Half and the British 10k)
