It's not quite midsummer but it seems a great opportunity to have our midsummer picnic as well!
Here's the plan:
1800 Meet at Bastion 3 car park (junction of Peronne Road and Military Road)
1805-1835 Run/Walk around Hilsea Lines
1835 reconvene at the car park to get litter pickers and then go back to pick any rubbish spotted on your run/walk
1900 time for a picnic (or home time if you can't stay) and a good old catch up. Due to covid safety, please bring your own food and not food to share. Thank you!
For the last few years we’ve partnered with the Great Get Together, the organisaton set up following Jo Cox’s murder, around their campaign to bring people together. On Sunday 20th June they are asking people to set up walks together as a way of talking and connecting with others to also to take part in Refugee week.
This walk will be a great opportunity to meet our fellow Goodgymers as we are still extracting ourselves from behind a zoom screen to face to face. If you want to join us but still feel anxious of the idea to be with a group let us know and we can make sure we give you extra space or if you just want to come for a short hello that is all good. Whatever works for you! We will combine the social benefits of seeing and talking to people with the mental health benfits of being near Nature (the sea and whatever weather is happening!) and physical benefits of walking.
The numbers are still capped at 30 as not quite past that 21st June date but if you wish to bring a partner, friend, family member then they will need to sign up (can be done without joining GG) and normal walk group sizes mean we could accomodate this in the name of connecting with more people!
