Two & Three Quarters

Leeds Report written by Laura

This morning, three of us met for Park run on Woodhouse Moor. It was rainy, I was late & Jason was running the wrong way but we got up & did it!

Jason run a race with GoodGym for the first time.

Jason has done their first race with GoodGym. Performing on the day is a lot of pressure; Jason's dealt with the nerves and turned up on the day to make it happen.

Just one more hill....

Leeds Report written by Laura

...they kept saying it but we stopped believing them! Well done to the team for running 10.5K tonight up many, many hills for the Apperley Bridge Canter! Organised by Horsforth Harriers around the beautiful countryside of Apperley Bridge, it was a beautiful but tough route. I was so happy to catch up with Shannen near the end & we were so pleased to see the rest of the team at the end, thanks for cheering us on guys! Congratulations to everyone on finishing & for supporting 'Stand against MND'.

Health is wealth

Leeds Report written by Laura

On the way to Bedford Fields tonight we finished our leafletting task for Unity Action Day. They are putting on a health & wellbeing event for young people this Monday, so this helped promote it. Good work team!

Swinging into action

Leeds Report written by Laura

The Leeds gang had a great night at Bedford Fields yesterday.

We ran up via the ridge & did some leafleting (see the separate report) & then headed to Bedford Fields to clear a path of lots of sticks and brambles, while another group cleared the public path. A few of us managed a break to play on the swing which is hidden at the top of the garden (it's not all hard work).

Super Helen had to her wear her cape & mask to celebrate a whopping 202 good deeds...what a hero!! Well done Helen!

Jubz then took a group to the pub to see Man United get beat... while the rest of us took a slow run back to Heart.

Welcome to Rachel & Clarice, we hope to see you again soon.

Twelve kids & a peaceful home

Leeds Report written by Laura

What a night! We celebrated Katie's upcoming wedding with a feast by Shannen & her catering company, The Honest Supper Club. The food was amazing & we polished it off with cake curtesy of Snack Force leader Jubz. Thanks guys, we loved it!! We all had a go at writing Katie's vows & apparently 12 kids & a peaceful home are on the agenda, along with pants on a lamp post?!!?!?!?!

Before the feast, the runners were taken on a wildlife mystery tour with an Alpaca being the star of the show. We did 5K, so we were a bit late for the task, but luckily the non runners were already hard at work (sorry guys)! We trimmed hedges, cleared the brambles, litter picked and revealed the tiles along the path.

We finished off with a walk back to Heart. Thanks for a great evening all & good luck Katie!

The Heat of the Moment

Leeds Report written by Laura

In the words of Rachel, 'what a wholesome evening!'

After a very hot run, it was so nice to be back up at the OWLS allotments on a lovely warm evening. We weeded several beds & paths & as there was 13 of us, we made a huge difference by the time we left. I'm always amazed by how much we can get done in an hour! This will allow the OWLS service users to focus on the fun stuff, planting and seeing to all the vegetables they're planting this summer.

Welcome to Ankita on her first Wednesday session & welcome back to Kawan.
