Meanwood Valley Farm - Various Tasks

We are a small charity with limited resources, so jobs like this often fall by the wayside. It helps us to continue to focus on our core work, but also with compost, it means we can have less inputs and save money

Blown Away by the Yorkshire Coast

Leeds Report written by Laura

On day 3 of our camping trip, after Jason's breakfast station nearly blew Helen away, we headed first for breakfast at North Yorkshire Water Park & then to start our activities.

Half the group braved the wind on the lake for a relaxing canoe ride, the rest of the group were not so relaxed....

We put on our wetsuits to tackle the inflatable obstacle course on the lake. Monkey bars, high drops, slides & climbing frames were all part of the fun & I don't think I've laughed so much in ages! Alice was the surprise superwoman of the group, tackling high drops & climbing frames with ease, I however bottled the high jump & did the slide instead.

What a great way to finish the trip. We all stuck together & helped each other as we went. All in all, a great team building experience!

A Pitch Perfect Weekend

Leeds Report written by Laura

This weekend was our annual camping trip & it was certainly a varied & fun weekend!

Tent drama, a beautiful camp site, park running, hiking, camp fire fun, toasted marshmallows, a trip to the pub, tiredness, silliness, moodiness, happiness, swimming in the sea, canoeing, warrior madness, a picnic, Ice cream eating pigeons & team bonding!!!! Phew...it may take a few days to recover.

I feel so lucky to be part of such an amazing group of people, thanks all for your contributions to the weekend. To the drivers, Jubz & Alice for giving me a bed, for Jason's legendary breakfast station, for Jubz & Adam's spare tents & to newcomers Aorvi & Ishleen (what an initiation) & for everyone supporting and helping each other.

Report 1 of 2 - Read more about Sunday activities in the next report.

All in Tents & Purposes

Leeds Report written by Laura

As Jubz kindly helped me figure out my tent putting up skills in preparation for our camping weekend, the rest of the team got to work on OWLS allotments.

We filled in a hole, weeded large areas & laid some stones. Great work everyone & sorry I only joined in at the end! But at least I now know how to put my tent up! Thank you Jubz :)

Thanks to Helen for meeting the group at Heart & welcome to Aran & Farzad on their first session, we hope to see you again soon.

Thanks also for the pun idea Helen!!
