Wed 6 Oct 19:00 pm
Bridge House, 2 High St, London, SE20 8RZ
at Upper Norwood Library Hub

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈWelcome to GoodGym Bromley!πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

We’re a super friendly group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. Every Wednesday we meet to get active and do a physical task to help charities or community organisations across Penge.

WHERE WE MEET

We meet outside the Bridge House pub in Penge. You can lock your bike up in their beer garden but there’s currently nowhere to leave bags so please come ready to run.

THE TASK

This week we're heading to Upper Norwood Library Hub, a few kms away, to paint the fences of the car park so please don't wear your best gear!

Please bring a mask and gardening gloves might be useful in case bad weather means we need to do something else!

RUNNING WITH US

We welcome runners of all abilities and we always have a back-marker so no one gets left behind. We usually run at a relaxed pace and tasks are never more than 4km from the pub.

Any questions? Drop me an email!

Twiggy In The Middle

Wed 25 Aug
β€’
Report written by Mark Gilyead

We had a lovely bunch this evening for a run, a good deed and even a bit of yoga!

We had a quick warm up in the park before making our way to St John's the Evangelist, a church with some big old wooden struts holding it up 😬 and also a lovely little 'meadow' out the side. It was an uphill run, but we managed it, partly distracting ourselves by talking about our lunch/dinner plans (apparently 5pm is too early for dinner?!)

When we arrived Helen showed us our task - bagging up a load of compost for it to be sieved to get the good stuff.

A Stick-y Situation

The challenge was to avoid bagging the sticks and twigs which were pretty well dispersed throughout the compost heap. And not forgetting a load of rubbish which made it's way in too.

After a solid 40 or so minutes, we called it a day having filled a lot of bags.

We then had a quick jog back to the park, for a lovely, relaxing yoga session with Emma, who took us through various positions which gave us a good stretch after our run - Thanks Emma!

And great running and shovelling and forking everyone!

Lovely to meet you all and hopefully see you again soon!

Next week there isn't a group run but we do have a Community Mission (same kinda thing but you meet there) on Tuesday for Anerley Town Hall and the Wednesday after that we may be lucky enough to go in the secret garden in CP Park!

THE TASK

This week we're heading to St John's the Evangelist. They've got a little meadow which they're turning into a little haven for insects and people. Our task is to empty out the compost bins into bags. Then if we have time we'll repair the bins and sift some of the compost.

Please bring gardening gloves! 🧀🧀

We'll have a bonus running yoga session led by Emma in the park when we get back!!
