The next time you see Dani, they might be wearing black instead of red. They've completed 50 good deeds with GoodGym and have earnt their black t-shirt. Give them a nod when you next see them.

We're the Aces of Spades!
A team of five assembled before tackling the steep hill of Crawley Green Road (11% incline over 400m!). Calves truly tested we arrived at St. Anne's Community Garden where two tons of topsoil greeted us.
Our task for this session was to shift the soil into raised beds that a school trip had made earlier in the day.
With the dirt diligently distributed, we said adios to the volunteers and headed to a nearby park where we did a session of sprint intervals to get our hearts properly pumping, followed a quick recovery lap and a nice hamstring stretch before running rapidly back down the hill.

Leagrave Park Litter Pick

We've done a few visits to Leagrave Park and it's really looking smart these days and deserving of its green flag status!
We'll be doing a thorough search for any rubbish that was missed last time, and any new litter thats been left by park visitors, keeping the fields and the river clean and tidy.

All the colours of the rainbow! 🎶
Today the team undertook the task of attending the 300th Luton Wardown Park Parkrun.
The theme for Parkrun was rainbows to celebrate Luton’s first ever pride event!
Each GoodGym member was assigned a colour to match the colours of the rainbow and they did a great job.
A generous GoodGym member was lovely enough to supply the team with pride flags to further brighten up the run and to celebrate pride.
Some of the team ran and others volunteered contributing to the great atmosphere throughout. Plus there were pride cookies, cakes and fudge to be enjoyed once runners hit the finish line.
It was a successful day and turnout to celebrate both the 300th Parkrun and the first Luton pride - definitely a day to remember! Happy pride month to all :)
P.S we successfully took a group photo of us in rainbow order.

Walk/Run/Cycle to Help Young People at TransitionsUK

This mission will help TransitionsUK with their ‘Achieve’ project, which helps young people with mild/moderate learning disabilities develop their independence with the aim that they can successfully live independently.
We will be joining their friendly evening social session at the Salvation Army hall to meet the young people for a chat, enjoy some games in the hall, and help out with cooking dinner for the group (You can eat it too!!).
Why not head down to St Georges Square for the Group Run afterwards? Tick off two good deeds in one evening! ✅

Filling Raised Beds at St. Anne's Community Garden

The plots we dug previously are now growing onions, carrots and potatoes so we'll be able to see how they're getting on.
This week a local school is coming to build some raised beds and we'll come along afterwards to fill them with topsoil so they can be planted up with more veg 🥦
