Zoe and I arrived at Ms I's flat to help move some furniture around to make room for a hospital bed so that Ms I can come home from hospital safely. We noticed a glass cabinet which we thought we ought to move as it would definitely be in the way if they tried to get a hospital bed in there. So we removed the items within the display cabinet carefully then carried the cabinet itself to the living room. We tried to remember how the various items were displayed in the cabinet originally as we put them back, which proved more difficult than we thought. Next up was the bed. We moved the mattress first of all to the side of the living room, behind the sofa. Easily done. The problem came with the bed frame, which although it was light, was very tall so didn't fit easily through door frames. After a lot of toing and froing, we successfully moved it out of the original bedroom into the hallway but whichever way we angled it, and however much we moved other furniture around in the flat, we couldn't get it into the living room. So we called upon help from the team downstairs who look after the block of flats to see if we could get an Allen key from anyone in order to dismantle the frame. Very fortunately someone did have one so we dismantled the frame and put it on the flat balcony, along with the mattress which we also moved out there, ready to be moved on at some point in the future.
