Mission

We simply cracked on with it!

Ted and I met in front of Mrs H's house, to do some weeding in her garden. It was Ted's first mission - whoop whoop!!! Welcome to the club, Ted!

Mrs H explained that since her husband had died, she just couldn't keep on top of the garden. In particular she was frustrated that she couldn't bend down to pull the pesky weeds that keep growing up in the tiny cracks in her driveway and front garden.

So we simply cracked on with it. With trowels in hand, we attacked the weeds with vim and vigor. We each took a side of the driveway and got every last scrap of green vegetation out of the tiniest of cracks! We also addressed the 'crazy paving' in the front garden, and pulled some flowering plants from the front wall (leaving just enough flowers to help any insects still about!).

Mrs H was so pleased! She told us the story of how she and her husband had bought it on spec from the builders back in the 1950s - and that she's lived in it ever since! So it was good to be able to contribute even in this small way to her feeling more in control and happy in her home.

It is the season to be jolly, afterall!
