28 wonderful runners set off on a wonderful Tuesday evening from Cathedral Square to run to Stokes Croft (aka Stokey) to hand out flyers for a community event.

Knowing that our run would have been tiny had we headed to Stokes Croft straight away, we took a slightly longer route taking in some of Bristol's lovely green spaces which, given the sun was out, all of Bristol had decided to inhabit!

Once we were stood atop Turbo Island next to a damson tree that we planted a few weeks ago, we split in to several groups, all dedicated to the fastest leaflet distribution known to man or beast. And my word, they were fast! The groups reconvened about 10 minutes later although a few people got a little over enthusiastic and ran off to hand out more leaflets just as we were starting to plan to head off to run a bit more.

Once everyone was rounded up, we headed to 'get fit in the Bear Pit' (remember that no bears were made fit in this run). Given the size of the group, one team (Kim's team) ran out of the pit and did a little loop of the surrounding area. In the meantime, the other team (Gary's team) were doing plyometric drop jumps - jumping off the side of the Bear Pit and doing a tuck jump as soon as their feet hit the floor. This helps encourage your run to be springy! After what seemed an age, Kim's team returned for their plyometric fun and Gary's team ran off.

Following that excitement, tricep dips and press ups were enjoyed by all (I'm sure of it!), then a few squats and lunges to keep our legs trim.

A final run back via some fantastic steps (don't ya just love steps!) into Castle Park showed the people of Bristol that GoodGym was on the move. We had lots of cheers (I'm guessing they were cheers) as we ran past the sunbathing citizens and headed back to stretch. There was only one way to finish a run like this - more exercise, this time in the form of planks and bicycle crunches!

Top work gang - a lot more exercise focused this week, what with running, jumping, pressing, dipping, etc. I've been reliably informed that the lunges/squats/plyometrics are making themselves felt this morning too, so it's the workout that keeps on giving! Thanks also to Gary for the pun!
