16 sparkling runners ran just over 4km to lay a new path for the Greenhouse Project's forest school.

In spite of the Shania-inspired title pun, the work the team did this week was actually very impressive! After running a steady 2km on one of the warmest days of the summer, they got stuck in to the task. The main job was to create a new path through the centre's wild flower meadow, leading to a central circle which will be a spot for a firepit. This involved weeding the path and digging, shifting and spreading heaps upon heaps of mulch.

The team worked as a well oiled machine, each taking on different roles, from the weeding squad to team mulch, and Effie and Sam as the chief spreaders.

In under 40 minutes, what was once an over grown and prickly trail had become a well laid, wide and easy to follow path. The project's forest school can now have ever more adventures.

Meanwhile, a sub-team including Chris, Paul and John tackled a badly put up barrier, shortening its route to take away any gaps.

This week's shout out goes to Becky who was willing to give everything and anything a try; raising her hand to help out whenever I asked for help. Nice one Becky!

The team at the Greenhouse project were made up with how much we got done - amazing work team!

On the way back I'd planned for a fitness session to include sprinting drills ahead of the Speke 10km race many of us are attending on Sunday. But on a super warm evening, the park was packed, so instead of sprinting, the team "enjoyed" some short hills drills instead ;)

Next week we're off to Everton Park - one of our faves! Find out more and sign-up, sign-up, sign-up!
