Our excellent 11 ran nearly 5km to help out at one of our favourite places, Everton Park.

With lots of the team on holiday, we were a more intimate group this week, but joy and enthusiasm was as high as ever. We kicked things off with some lovely news, that our Becky B is pregnant. Becky ran with a 'baby on board' sign pinned to her back, complete with a baby wearing a mini GG shirt (Hey Alex K. at HQ, there are at least two new merch ideas for you!).

It was another beautiful evening and we made good time across the city to the task, where we were greeted by John from Friends of Everton Park. Our task was move the weeds and grass away from the trunks of the fruit trees in the park's orchard, in advance of the Friends team putting manure down. It was quite a tricky task since there were a lot of weeds, tall grass and brambles on the already steeply slopped ground. As such, I wanted to use the pun, 'Some of our tasks are easy, some of them are orchard', but it was vetoed on the grounds of it being a naff Dad joke.

This week's shout outs go to newbie Jon who easily kept pace and got stuck in at the task too. We'd love to see you again soon Jon. And even though she got the shout out last week, we have to give it to Becky (and her little bump) again this week! :)

Taking it steady away, the task was soon complete and John invited us to visit the groups' community garden, just down the road. What a wonderful sunny spot, with beds in full bloom and veggies aplenty. Here the task was to collect horse weed and trade it in for cake and wine! Don't tell Central Office but we skived off the fitness session to drink wine and eat cake with Friends of Everton Park.... normal service will resume next week, I promise!

The run back to base came with an unexpected hill, but the team traversed it with elegance, and quite a bit of moaning. Fantastic work team; well done for coming out to get fit and do good on such a sticky evening.

Next week we have a walkable task, and a new one to boot. So let's show them what GoodGym is all about with a big brilliant team - sign-up here folks. See you then <3
