It's the season

Six GoodGymers met up for our later than usual "March" session at the Farm. Usually, we're arranged to help out at the Farm on the last Saturday of the month, but due to holidays and staff shortages, we couldn't meet last Saturday.

Still, give us any Saturday and the six slots will be filled - who doesn't like an afternoon at the Farm? Especially when there's newborns around.

Six feet under

We were met by Siobhain, one of the Live Stock apprentices, as Kate was off due to her birthday (we'll allow that as a valid excuse) 😜 Yet, Siobhain had a few tasks for us to do. We had the beloved sweep the goats courtyard or dig trenches for the raspberry bushes they will be planting. The other task was cleaning and sorting out planting pots, which had no takers.

We were all going to do both tasks together, however, it was noted that six people weren't really needed for the goat's courtyard task. Vic and Claire were keen to sweep the goat's courtyard and did the task with precision. They also spent time cuddling the goats....as you do.

The rest of the team: Jenny, Marta, Sam and Zeina dug their own graves (at least, it looked like it). The trenches they dug were wide and long enough, but maybe not deep enough for their final resting place. Yet, it will be the final resting place for the raspberry bushes. During the hour and a half session, we caught up and talked about the Area Activator / Taskforce roles and then we found out that Jenny is great at digging that she could be an archaeologist.

The last thirty minutes were designated for us to see the little lambs that were born earlier in the week. Afterwards, we played, stroked and took photos of another set of lambs that were born a few weeks ago. They were a bit more bouncy and springy. It's always a pleasure to be on the Farm and can't wait for the next session on the 30th of April!
