This sunny Saturday morning 7 Good Gymers made their way to Purley Way Playing Fields to tackle the litter. It is quite a large area but we were determined to do as much as we could in our hour and a half. The Don't Mess with Croydon team met us to give us the equipment. Armed with litter pickers and bags, we began along the tree line around the edge of the park which had accumulated quite a few bits. After filling several bags we spread out into the fields and football pitches where although the litter was more spread out there was still plenty of it, particularly take away sauce pots. When we had finished we realised the first bags we had filled had already been taken away (very efficient!) so we weren't able to take a full photo but think in total we must have filled between 15-20 bags. A great job was done by everyone, and a great first task for Eleanor, David and Daniel who completed their first missions and their first ever litter pick. And a busy Saturday for Peter and Ingrid who were both off to another mission after which would make 2 missions for Ingrid and 3 for Peter today. Well done guys!
