As everyone knows, you're not supposed to put food scraps in with your recycling. Except some residents of Kings Road in Canton don't know this. The result being loads of disgusting rubbish (including chicken bones, half eaten fast food and dirty napkins) were strewn all over my street on bin day, Wednesday 31 January. An accidental meeting of a neighbour on my way home in the evening prompted an impromptu litter pick between the two of us. I went inside for garden gloves, and she went inside for a bin bag. About 30 minutes later we cleaned about 50 feet of road and sidewalks near our houses (mainly in front of 3 houses but we shall stoop to putting their house numbers here to name and shame, as much as I'd like to!). Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of us doing this - I think I was to caught up in the grossness of it all. But I did take a pic of the bin bag later, as of course the binmen had already come by then and it wont ge collected for 2 weeks. Ah the joys of urban living!
