Grace, Tom, Jassy & Martel met with Peter the task owner at Mencap's Searchlight centre in Norbiton. Peter reassured us that if we didn't know what we were doing it was all good as we would pick it up as we went along. He dished out litter pickers and binbags and we got to work clearing up the car park and grounds. Tom, Grace and Jassy cleared up lots of wrappers, cans, a wad of corrugated cardboard and half a crutch until the area was spotless. Martel and Peter didn't want to hide extra car parking spaces under a bushel - oh no - (or rather lots of mud and leaves) and got busy with shovels to clear the edge of the tarmac of debris. Two bonus spaces emerged after their hard graft. Thanks to Peter for having us, it was very satisfying work and we look forward to coming back again soon.
