Today we welcomed Tamar. She came to check GoodGym out following an advice from a friend who is involved with the AGE UK Keep Your Pet scheme and who saw our team in action at the Just another day at the paw-ffice two weekends ago. Welcome to the team Tamar

Peter from Greenways welcomed us and explained that the information lecterns needed a lick of wood preserver. Since Peter had done all the sanding prep few days ago the task involved only painting. Equipped with a paint brush and a plastic cup (for the wood preserver) each we decided to work together and attack one board at the time. We worked out a system with one person doing the top and back, a person doing each side and one around the glass and the central part of the board. Conversations were not only about running, but how electric cars pollute, car ownership, fuel shortage and tansy beetles. 40 minutes into the task we have made three information lecterns shiny and decided to call it a day since it was already very dark. Louise and Abi went home, while I and Tamar carried the tools to Peter. I also did a bonus task of hiding 5 bags full of plastic bottles behind the hedge, so Peter can take them to the recycling centre tomorrow and taking 2 bags full of litter to deposit by the nearby public litter bin.
