Under the noisy sky near Heathrow Airport, lived Mrs B, who loved her garden that always gave her peace of mind. In the past, before she became frail and unwell, she used to do all the gardening jobs herself. She was also a regular volunteer, litter picking with her local group, which gave her a sense of rewarding contribution to her community. When GoodGymers Sevan and Kash visited her on Sunday morning, she said she was still involved in her volunteer group meetings despite not being able to do any hands-on work.

Mrs B was worried that her garden would become overgrown as her health declined. It became clear that pruning would be the priority of the mission. With no loppers available, Sevan and Kash's onslaught on overgrowth was slowed down a bit, but a pair of shears, secateurs and a saw did the job. Once Kash picked up the saw, there was no mercy for the growing in or shooting too high rose stems. Sevan, after deadheading unknown flowers, decided it was time for a bigger challenge: taking down one of the trunks of a thin tree.

The last few minutes of the mission, the GoodGymers spent cutting and piling the trimmings (as there was no more space in the bin) while enjoying tea and biscuits brought by Mrs B. The lady was grateful and knew that Sevan and Kash were thankful too - for the opportunity to give back. As a volunteer herself, she knew very well the feeling one experiences while helping others.
