We had a simultaneously exciting yet confusing start - due to works at our usual base, we found that we had only litter pickers and no bags, but we also got to meet our newest runner Haidee! We didn't want to waste anymore time or keep Sallyann waiting, so we set off with our pickers and a plan to get bags at a shop near to our destination.

On our jog to Kings Road inducted Haidee into the Goodgym way of jogging and talking at the same time, something we've been practicing for many years. We met Sallyann and started to collect litter whilst Rich bought a roll of bin bags.

We continued the chatting whilst picking our litter, discussing important topics such as where we might go for breakfast after our parkrun volunteering on the 1st of July, and our performances at the quiz on Sunday. Our eventful last few minutes of litter picking saw Rich putting bags in a bin over a fence, and Richard being hit in the face by a tree.

Thanks all for a friendly evening of clearing litter from the streets of Chelmsford, see you all soon!
