How many tomatoes goes into a pallet?

Back for another mission at City Harvest after yesterday's choking. It was lively today as we had more volunteers and most of them were regulars.

That means 90 minutes for making a pallet. There were 3 of us. So 30 minutes for a pallet. But in reality, it took us around 45 minutes.

A group was taking out cherries from the pack and another group was taking out tomatoes and filling the crates. After removing a few packs of cherries, I switched to tomatoes as it was easier to rip them open. The team handling cherries was doing them at a rapid pace, they finished three pallets and joined the tomato group when we were halfway through.

I sometimes try to put things into perspective by doing some math in my head. We needed to make 2 more pallets when I joined the team. A pallet should have 30 crates as per City Harvest.

So every box had around 10 packs of tomatoes. And each pack had 6 tomatoes. After filling a few crates, I realized, that it took 3 boxes of tomatoes to fill a crate. And I put a timer to measure how much time it took for me to remove all the packs from a box. It took me around 40 seconds. 5 more seconds to put the tomatoes into the crate. A few more to put the wrappers and the box in the bin. Rounded them up to a minute. So 3 minutes for filling a crate.
