Whodunnit or (no more) period drama?

Having watched the weather forecast with a certain amount of dread all week, we were relieved to meet up at East Oxford Community Centre under clearing skies. It was great to see some new faces again - lovely to have you with us Rachel and Rachel. After giving Tim a little love for achieving his 100th Good Deed with us last week, we did a brief dynamic warm-up to get us ready to run before setting off into the night.

Heading west for a change we challenged ourselves to run around (or close to) all the ex-Women's Colleges of Oxford, and celebrate the achievements of the women who have studied there. Of course, Anwen has a quirky interpretation of 'celebrate' - calling out the names of famous women who had studied at each of the colleges and getting the group to do exercises until they guessed the subject (lunges, star jumps, and seated squats all featured).

Happy International Women's Day

After a quick game of Over and Under outside Somerville College, we popped into Oxford University Press to collect their Red Box Project donation box. Adding our own donations to the stash, and reassuring the security guard that we really weren't going to ruin our knees with all that running, we loaded up our re-usable bags and set off on our delivery mission.

A short run and a dash up the stairs took us to OxfordHub, where we dropped off our collection of pants, pads, tampons, wipes, disposal bags etc to be divided up into Red Boxes for schools around Oxford, aiming to end Period Poverty in Oxford. Find out more about the Red Box Project here.

Next week we will be heading west again, which will mean another flat run - can you believe it?! We will be delivering leaflets and putting up posters for Open House Oxford, which is a fantastic spot on Little Clarendon Street providing a public indoor space which you don't have to spend money to be in.
