I turned up to help with the preparation for the Beavers arriving at Paradise Fields, just as the heavens opened and thunder rolled in. The leader decided that it wouldn't be sensible to carry on with the vegetation clearing they had been doing during the morning to create a dead hedge and block off one path (metal tools in a storm, no thanks!), but with a team of eager volunteers who weren't ready to call it a day just yet, we could still get on with a litter pick.

Between the team we managed to fill 9 bags, and pulled out some flooring and the front panel of a van! There's still lots of preparation to do before the beavers arrive in the autumn, but the cleared and cleaned area helps with the work they need to do to reduce antisocial behaviour and limit the number of routes into the Paradise Fields site to protect the beavers.
