This week 17 GoodGym-ers ran 6km to help deliver flyers for the Phoenix.

We were joined by TWO GG newbies: Beth and Michael – give 'em a cheer!

Tonight marked Hazel's 100th run. She was properly awarded her shirt of honour. tips hat

After a quick intro and warm up, we were off on our run, taking the opportunity to run along roads we've not explored yet. Rachel and Beattie kept me company at the front as we made our way to our starting point.

We then split into two teams, one with me and one with Damian, flyering all the way down the road.

Once all the flyers were posted, we made our way to Muswell Hill Playing Fields for a workout and a play. There was a mix of resistance running (to make you run longer), sprinting (to make you faster) and bodyweight exercises (to make you stronger).

We were then invited to run around the doggy school to give the dogs a chance to not chase us. Bonus good from the GoodGym-ers for the canine population of North London.

I then gave everyone five minutes to be children on the playground equipment, something Beth told me she had not done for a while. I think everyone should play more – adults often forget, what with grown up life always getting in the way. But it's very good for you.

Once the playing was done, it was time to head home. Heather lead us through the woods and back to East Finchley, while Graham carried my scooter. Unexpected army training for him.

We were soon back at base enjoying this week's Barnet Biscuit, courtesty of Hazel.

Next week we'll be helping Stephen's House and Gardens, then on 15 Aug it's our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY. I really hope you can make it. Sign up here. I'd love to get as many people along to this one as possible, so tell your friends, family, co-workers; the bloke sat next to you on the bus.
