What nicer way could there be to spend Christmas Eve than pottering about in Mrs J's garden and having a chat with David and Charlie.

Mrs J was completely lovely and seemed really happy to have us visit and weed the small patch of garden outside her flat - she even provided a tea tray with biscuits for us to enjoy.

The gardening was very straightforward on this occasion, and also educational. I learned how to test the clay-y-ness of the soil by trying to roll it into a sausage and that soil can be friable - although not both at the same time which must make for a very unsatisfactory breakfast.

We also heard some entertaining tales of Charlies rabbits Dex and Lola, and with Charlie suggesting that the abundance of dandelions might serve as a pretty decent Christmas dinner for Dex the run title seemed appropriate.

We had the space clear in an hour or so - all ready for some new planting. Thanks for a lovely morning both of you!
