Day of the Shed

We arrived at the Up Garden just as the open morning was finishing,the event had been organised to invite residents to see the changes made to the site and get their views on how best the space can be used to be inclusive for all residents.

A shed had been donated and some of the residents had made a start on putting it back together,while they finished off we started relocating the custom made planters.

Our assistance was then required in help get the shed roof into place,we left Kevin,Hilary and Andy to help fix it.

Graham,Rosa and I helped Ayaz with several donated chairs and tables.

Due to the size of the shed and slightly bowed walls more hands were required so Rosa and Graham went to help.

Ayaz who is a local resident helped me with starting to remove an over grown ivy bush,it has got so large it has destroyed the gardens fence and starting to encroach into the neighbours garden,we shall return to remove the wire fence so we can remove the roots.

Due to becoming over heated and feeling unwell I left early and headed home for a nice cold shower before heading to another community mission.

The rest of the team managed to secure the roof just in time for Suz to ask them to relocate the final planters....7 large ones and 5 square ones.

The planters are now ready to be lined and filled with compost ready for planting.

The Up garden has been short listed for some council funding for way finding art...but they need our votes to win.....vote here
