Clearing the overgrown flower meadow at The Greenway Orchard - the sequel.

After a four successful visits to The Greenway Orchard this year, we shall be returning again on 3rd November to take on the overgrown undergrowth in the former flower meadow area of the Orchard, so that the volunteer team there can replant the meadow.

Based on our last visit on 15/9, our task for this visit will be a combination of cutting back what remains after our previous visits, and digging out more roots, and so further adding to their compost heap, and anything else that helps to clear the space.

They are hugely appreciative of our efforts in taming (or trying to tame...) the bramble mountain and well embedded roots that have confronted us on our last four visits, and we definitely know what to expect this time...

Please come prepared with long sleeves and trousers (of some sort) to protect against the brambles, thorns and other jabbing/grabbing green things that will be part of this evening's entertainment - gloves and equipment will be provided - and also bring a head torch (or other suitable form of lighting) if you have one as the summer evenings have now sadly departed for another year and we'll be digging and cutting in the dark on this session.

There'll be a run option (c2m/3.2km each way) starting at Freaks and Geeks (West Ham Lane), with bag drop available at the pub, meeting at 6.30pm, and returning back there afterwards - or alternatively you can meet us at the task.
