Multi-tasking with my sister today saw us completing a 28 day walk challenge in aid of Pancreatic UK, discover hidden gems in our beloved city of Liverpool, and clean up the steps and streets surrounding the iconic St Luke's aka 'The Bombed-Out Church'.

My sister, Linda , smashed her 28 miles in 28 days target, covering 60 miles instead, walking in memory of my husband, Derek 💜 We completed the final walk around the Albert Dock area, and took in sights familiar and new.

St Luke's was our ultimate destination. A firm favourite for Group Runs (remember them?), not only because it lies about 1km from our meeting place 😁, but also because we always have really interesting tasks to complete there. Being at a major junction, and at the top of bustling Bold Street, the steps at the front of the church provide an ideal place to meet, sit and watch the world go by.

Sadly, even though there are four bins in plain sight, right in front of the steps, there is always rubbish, littering the area.

Having taken advantage of the steps to sit, eat and watch the world go by, we set about picking up the remnants of fast food containers, cigarette ends, bottles, broken glass, gas canisters...the usual detritus.

After 30 minutes, we had filled our three bags, and had managed to warm up a little.

It was the perfect end to a special day...I can't wait to be able to return once more, with our fellow Liverpool GoodGymers ❤
