A group of us GG Yorkies met on a lovely sunny evening to remove some more Himalayan balsam. We welcomed Roger to his first ever GG task - so please do give him a cheer!

We concentrated on a patch alongside the river and found several patches had already been done but the balsam had been left lying spread out on the ground. We could already see that some of it had re-rooted itself in the ground so we set to work tidying it all into big piles, making sure to snap it in several pieces, especially around the root end. For good measure we (mostly me) occasionally gave the piles a bit of a stamping down as well for good measure.

Cara managed to unearth a frog which happily hopped away whilst we carried on our work, but not before I'd managed to get a photo (mostly for Dom's benefit who sadly couldn't join us).

A pleasant way to spend an hour on a summer's evening.

*Thanks to Ellie and Amy for the pun title (apparently it's from the film Legally Blonde)
