Absolutely bananas

When I arrived at City Harvest, the fridge sorting room was absolutely ram packed with a delivery from Amazon. Four pallets of mixed totes and 3 other volunteers already busy trying to sort them into the right categories and dates.

I got stuck in to sort out the fruit and veg, but it quickly became apparent that fruit of the week was bananas... Literally hundreds and hundreds of them needed reboxing so they could be sent to different charities.

It took a long time to get through everything, but we left the sorting room clear and the bananas were moved to the front of the warehouse ready to go!
