11:00 - 12:45🌊 Community Mission: Join the Great UK WaterBlitz!
We’re inviting GoodGym Barnet members to take part in a nationwide citizen science project with Earthwatch – the Great UK WaterBlitz.
Healthy rivers matter to all of us, and this is a simple way to make a real contribution. Spend just 20 minutes testing a local river, stream, pond, lake or canal and help build a national picture of water quality.
📅 When? 18–21 September
What you’ll do 💧 Choose a freshwater location. 💧 Use a free testing kit to measure nitrate and phosphate levels. 💧 Submit your results to Earthwatch to support scientific research.
You can do it whenever suits you during the WaterBlitz weekend, on your own, with friends or family, or why not invite other GoodGym members to join you? It’s a great opportunity to connect with nature, learn about your local environment and contribute to genuine citizen science.
Please register as soon as possible!
There are limited testing kits available, so don’t leave it too late.
Two quick steps:
- Commit to this GoodGym Community Mission so we know who’s taking part.
- Register with Earthwatch to receive your free water testing kit.
Let’s see how many waterways GoodGym Barnet can survey!
Every test helps us better understand the health of our rivers—and every volunteer makes a difference. 🌍💙
