Kingston Firework DisplayPlease note that this community mission has been cancelled.
The Kingston Fireworks Display is organised by Kingston Rotary and Round Table Clubs: Surplus proceeds go to local charities, with just 3 hours work you can help raise considerable funds to enable us to give financial assistance to local charities. We have established an excellent safety record but this can only continue if we have sufficient helpers. Our joint Club members are all volunteers and do not get paid - can GoodGym help them out?!
Afternoon tasks
Afternoon - usually 2:30 to 4:30pm - tasks are, for example, setting out the linked fencing, setting up lighting for the ticket area and putting up signs.
Risks
Potential for trips and slips on wet grass or running track edge. Please be careful when lifting fencing in afternoon session - carry in pairs and bend your knees when lifting to protect your back.
Notes
Written briefing instructions will be given a few days before the event as well as verbal instruction on the day. Please wear warm clothing and appropriate footwear for wet grass. A torch will be useful but not essential.
The task owner is Alan and his number is 07976757822.

Thank you for signing up for this task however it has, unfortunately been cancelled. This is Kingston Rotary's official statement:
"It is with great sadness that we are announcing the cancellation of the Fireworks Display at the Kingston Weir Archer Athletics Stadium this year. Despite our best efforts to meet all the demands of putting on the display including meeting the more stringent regulations covering crowd safety issues, it has become clear that we are not able to put on an event similar to those in the past."
