We innovate and collaborate with our partners to achieve the borough’s ambitions. We build on the strengths of our communities, supporting and enabling community groups, and work closely with the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sectors, sharing our resources to deliver our shared aims.

Earlier this year, we were called out to help Georgina at the pond in Claremont Gardens, which had completely dried out. We cleared away lots of grass and vegetation so the pond liner could be tested, but sadly there are still issues to resolve.

We’ve now been called back to help remove willow and undergrowth around the pond — and there’s another area that needs some serious TLC.

The arched garden next to the pond used to be beautifully maintained, but it has become completely overgrown and rather sad. We’ll be helping to bring it back to life and give this important local habitat the care it deserves.

What to bring

Some areas may be muddy, so bring wellies or old shoes if in doubt. It will be dark, so please bring a headtorch. Gardening gloves are also recommended.

Getting there

🏃 6:30pm — Meet at the Quaker Centre for a 2.5km run to the gardens

🌳 7:00pm — Meet directly at Claremont Gardens

📍 Claremont Gardens, Claremont Road, Surbiton, KT6 4BN

Come along, get stuck in, and help us give this special local space a much-needed rescue!
