After helping out at and, in a some cases also running, Charlton Parkrun and a well earned coffee, 6 Good Gym runners converged on the Old Cottage Cafe in Charlton park to help out with planting day. We were met by Liz, Trish and Ruth who were coordinating and helping with the planting and made our way to the wild area of the park, stopping off on the way to pick up tools, a hose and most importantly 100 young saplings of various species. The aim was to build the young trees into a hedge and the group quickly marked out a line of canes and got digging. Within no time the trees were planted, watered and finally tied in. The task complete, it was time for a quick photo before everyone wandered off into the sun.
