The Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) were formed in 2003 with three aims: * to get the Grade II listed Brixton Windmill restored and opened for public visits – in 2002 it had been put on English Heritage's buildings at risk register; * to make Windmill Gardens park a more welcoming space for local people; * to have a new education centre at the windmill. Windmill Gardens gained a Green Flag Community Award in 2015 and we have just been judged again so our fingers are crossed that we will retain the award for the next two years.

Windmill Gardens is a heavily used park and keeping it looking good is an important part of the work of the Friends of Windmill Gardens charity. We have our Art in the Park event for local people in August with the theme of 'nature' so we want the park to be looking its best!

Help make Windmill Gardens a public park where everyone can enjoy the natural world of plants, insects and birds.

This session will be led by volunteers from Friends of Windmill Gardens with gardening experience. There will be different tasks including weeding the vegetable garden, some planting, some litter picking and some pruning of bushes. Please wear footwear and clothing suitable for changing weather conditions.

Gloves, drinking water and tools are provided.

The session runs from 1pm to 3:30pm but come for as long or as little as you like!
