Gait analysis to the study of human movement and propulsion.
Top UK athletics coach (and Goodgymmer) Tom Craggs has written a solid article about the process:
https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/a42293018/gait-analysis/
Area Activator Simon is a qualified coach (CiRF) with UK athletics and has 8 years of running assessment experience (Runnersneed, The Running Works, ON Running).
Gait analysis has been proved to be a useful tool for highlighting potential issues, making suggestions for improvement and checking efficiency in movement.
Simon would like to offer 10 Goodgymmers the opportunity to join him for a dynamic warm up and short interval session.
During the evening, recordings for forward momentum, running form and lateral stability (at different paces) will be made, and used to make suggestions for training focus or for footwear choices.
Where possible, Simon will try to share this footage as a report for those involved.
Any questions about the process, comment below or email Simon directly.
Note:
Basic gait analysis should not be used to substitute the advice of medical professionals or physios.
However, the gait analysis is a great starting point for bio-mechanical assessment.
