WWF/ Earth Hour
Earth Hour is WWF’s international campaign to highlight environmental issues. The event encourages individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30pm as a symbol of commitment to the planet. This year Earth hour will be on Saturday 30th March.

Please note that this group run has been cancelled.

Rose Hill has a lovely nature reserve, Rivermead Nature Park, which is in need of a bit of tidying up, and that's where we will be heading this evening. Trev .has reported that the litter has been building up so we'll do our best to clear the worst of it before we lose the daylight. With Earth Hour happening the previous Saturday it's very timely to clean up one of Oxford's Green Spaces this evening.

Earth Hour is the world’s biggest switch off event. Each year, millions of people around the world switch off their lights and organise events – at home, in their community or in their towns or cities – to show they care about the future of our planet.

Bring gardening gloves and a head torch if you have them and wear footwear you wouldn't mind getting a little muddy. Litter pickers and bags will be provided.

Meeting points:
* If you would like to join a group to run to the task meet at 5:50pm at The Richard Benson Hall. It's about 2 miles to run to Rose Hill and we want to start the litter pick as early as possible to maximise the daylight, hence slightly earlier meeting time than usual.
* If you would prefer to meet at the task meet at the entrance to Rivermead Nature Reserve on River Mead Road, OX4 4UE at 6:15pm.

Hi

Sorry to be cancelling this session - we plan to do it next month instead. I will shortly be listing a different task for 29th March, so there will still be a GoodGym session.

New to GoodGym?

This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.

New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.
