Exciting news - it’s a request for us to visit a new spot. We have been asked to visit Claremont Gardens in Surbiton (by Waitrose) to help Elliot Newton, Kingston’s Biodiversity Officer, with a green oasis right near the high street. Claremont Gardens is a treasure as it so close to the hustle and bustle yet this little spot has all sorts of insects and animals, and a pond that needs our help!

Elliot has asked us to help with some pond maintenance and has even offered to bring waders for the more adventurous among us to really get stuck in. He’s also asked us to help with litter picking and removal of Goat’s Rue and Monkey Flowers - beautiful flowers but very invasive. No real goats or monkeys will be harmed on this task.

This will keep on top of jobs and maintain some great habitat for local wildlife populations. If you like gardening then this is a great task for you!

Typical risks of working outdoors and using tools, a health and safety talk will be done at the start of the event. Please bring gloves and long sleeves would be advisable to protect against brambles and bitey insects. Don't forget to bring your head torch as it will be dark.

The task owner is Elliot and his number is 07906402431.

Meet at the Quaker Centre at 6.30pm for a 2.5km run there and 2.5km back. For those meeting us at the venue the address is Claremont Gardens, Claremont Road, Surbiton, KT6 4BN - we will get there about 7pm.

Afterwards we will be visiting the Albion for drinks and food so please come for a chat and social. We'll be there from 8pm onwards.
