It possibly goes without saying, but parkrun really isn’t about running at all - despite it’s name - it’s really about community cohesion, wellbeing and the coming together of the community. Pretty much like Good-Gym!
We are spoilt for choice in Brighton and Hove with 5 parkruns across the city. We like to meet up together and run or walk or volunteer at a different parkrun in Brighton&Hove (or further afield ;-) wearing our red GoodGym T-shirt.
Bevendean Down parkrun is a FREE weekly 5K event for participants of all standards that takes place every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in Bevendean Down, Bevendean, Brighton.
Come along on Saturday for a hilly, scenic Parkrun. Experience this "hidden gem" of a parkrun.
The Bevy Community Pub is serving breakfast afterwards and trying to raise some pennies/pounds for their community projects.
Make sure you get there for the run briefing just before 9am.
Every Km counts!
New to parkrun?
Parkruns are free, weekly, community events all around the world. Saturday morning events are 5k and take place in parks and open spaces. You can run, walk or volunteer at parkruns. You can even take your dog (if you have one) along! If you have never run a parkrun before, they are a great way to get into running in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Remember, it's FREE, but you can register HERE: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/ to keep a profile (number of parkruns you do, times, etc.).
Volunteering at parkrun. parkrun events take place every week and everyone is welcome to volunteer, we'd love you to join in! To get involved and see which roles are available, click HERE
What to look out for
Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in any GoodGym session. Looking out for each other! GoodGym is a community and it's important we look out for each other's safety as well as our own.
Parkruns are events not organised by GoodGym and GoodGym takes no responsibility for your participation in the event. But, as responsible GoodGym-er we follow GoodGym Code of Conduct at our meet ups at any local parkrun.
REMEMBER to associate you parkrun profile to the group/club: GoodGym-Brighton and to share your photos on our whatsapp group :-)
