It was a busy morning at Haymill Nature Reserve, and Mick, Sarah and Sheila could choose from a variety of jobs. Between us we cut back brambles and nettles, litter-picked, repaired an information board, and dug a pond alongside other volunteers. (And ate cake) A satisfying morning

Went to mow a meadow.....well a triangular garden anyway.
For such a small garden it was on quite a slope. Still it didnt take too long to whizz over it with the mower and then follow up the edges with a handy little hand held grass trimmer.
Mrs J was delighted at the difference.
The photo is during.

It was a hot start to the day and my first job of the day was to unload cars. Next it was time to help set up the jam and chutney stall. i spent most of the carnival selling raffle tickets, especially being in charge of card sales.
Finally, it was time to pack up so taking down the arena barrier and removing 5 advertising banners from the outer railings was my last job of the day.
