Three volunteers met at Black Park for a walk and litter pick. Today the park was particularly clean but we showed up and picked up some of the smaller pieces and still ultimately made a difference. some of the black park rangers were out and thanked us for the work we do.

Today was the first time we've helped Holy Family Catholic School and what a great task it was too.

Thank you to Chrissy for getting the task initiated and to Helen for getting from one end of Slough to another with no mode of transport!

Luckily Helen is a keen cyclist and a quick thinker when the family car she was going to use wasn't in the driveway when she went to leave the house! But don't worry it wasn't stolen.... another family member had it!

On my arrival there was a buzz of activity with the parents at the school already making a cracking start! They were cutting back overgrown hedges, pulling out weeds and chopping back the ivy. No cutting hedge technology is needed when you have a motivated team of parents who want their school to flower and bloom.

We are got down and dirty and made a great start at clearing back the bedded area to make room for new flowers and plants.

You can sense the community feel at this school straight away.

One parent who couldn't attend even baked a cake! That was the icing on the cake for me!

Well done to everyone who helped and a special shout out to Chrissy for putting the task together.

We look forward to returning to help out again.

Lots of Goodgym volunteers today at Salthill junior parkrun including David doing his second task with us.

Sorting, pricing, labelling and expiry dating was the order of the day.

New donations were sorted into Ladies, Mens, Kids, Shoes, bags, bedding toys, and rags. DVDs and CDs were checked for completeness and being scratch free and were then given a shelf life date. Random items were priced and displayed in the shop.

Regulars Mick and Jen were joined by newcomer David.

There were various jobs to do today. A small group went off to fix a sign board, another group went off to remove a pile of clothing strewn in the trees, a couple of people went off litter picking. Mick and David formed part of a team who took charge of chopping a dead tree down.

The rest of the group got to work removing nettles from the sedge bed.
