Welcome to GoodGym York ๐
๐โโ๏ธ๐We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. Every Monday evening we meet to get active and do a physical task to help the charities or community organisations in our city.
TONIGHT'S TASK๐ณ
We'll be going to Greenfields near the hospital for various jobs in the gardens.
We'll be using hand tools, so please bring gardening gloves if you have them.
WHERE WE MEET ๐
We will be meeting outside the Ackhorne Pub on St Martinโs Lane, YO1 6LR (just off Micklegate). We can leave our bags and valuables in their office, which is secure.
๐ฒThere is cycle parking nearby on both Micklegate and at the Priory Street Centre (as you approach the centre a 10 bay covered cycle parking is to the left in the car park) On street parking is available on Priory Street. These are all only a couple of minutes walk to the new meeting point.
RUNNING AND WALKING WITH US ๐
GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities. If you prefer to walk let us know and we can arrange a walking group.
๐We always have a back-marker too so nobody will get left behind - no matter what your pace is.
POST-RUN SOCIAL ๐ป
We will finish the group session back at The Ackhorne Pub on St Martin's Lane so why not stay for some liquid refreshment and a good chat?
Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.
This is a GoodGym group run. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run to the task together. If you can't run for more than 15 minutes without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Ed Woollard (He/Him) by email at edwoollard@goodgym.org.
Options are available to run between 3km and 4km in total.
Remember that we will be running to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.
Comments are a good place to ask any questions you may have about the session.
Please note that comments written here are publicly visible: avoid posting private information such as your mobile phone number.
If you have a question you would like to ask privately, you can email the GoodGym York area activator, Ed Woollard (He/Him), .
